SAMPLE RECEIVING

You may review the details below regarding our sample receiving procedures.

SAMPLE RECEIVING

Statesville Analytical takes the following steps in receiving of your samples:

~ Unpack Samples And Organize Them According To Analytical Requirements.

~ Document Date And Time Of Sample Receipt.

~ Enter The Client And Sample Information Into XLIMS System.

~ Verify Sample Identification On Label Matches Identification On The Sample.

Sample receiving is a very important step in the process of analyzing samples and we make it a priority.

Our pre-cleaned sample containers are certified by the manufacturer as being cleaned to EPA requirements for their use parameters. For bacterial analysis, the bottles received are checked for sterility before being used.

SAMPLE PRESERVATION, HOLDING TIMES AND CONTAINER TYPE

Sample preservation, holding times, and container types are provided in accordance with federal and state regulations (40 CFR and SW846).

SAMPLE DISPATCH

Sample Kits are prepared in our laboratory, with sample containers pre-preserved or with appropriate preservatives provided for addition at time of sampling.

Sample containers are packaged in bubble wrap to reduce the change of breakage and to minimize cross-contamination concerns.

Kits are held for client pick-up or delivered to your site.

SAMPLE ACCEPTANCE

Upon arrival at our lab, samples are checked to evaluate sampling and handling protocol. The temperature of samples is taken using an infrared thermometer.

Samples are also checked for chemical preservation, dichlorination, and general sample integrity. Chain of Custody (COC) forms are signed and a copy of the three-part form is provided to our clients.

For drinking water samples, your information must be received on a state approved form. Any samples that do not meet the sample handling protocol are not accepted and a resample is requested.

Next, the samples are logged in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) system and a condition of receipt is generated. The COC and a copy of the condition of receipt are filed until the completed data report is ready to send to our clients. Sample labels are created and affixed to the samples, which are now ready to be analyzed.

Nitrate/Nitrites will not be accepted after 3:00pm on Friday or a day before a State Holiday.
